Project Motivation
Chile’s cultural ecosystem suffers from deep centralization. Most official platforms focus solely on the Alameda axis in Santiago, awarded through closed tenders or personal connections (“pitutos”), resulting in slow, mediocre portals that are hard to access for independent collectives in regional areas.
As a filmmaker residing in the O’Higgins Region, I have experienced first-hand the disconnection that exists outside the capital. This project was born to test my software development and web architecture concepts, proving that with self-management and cutting-edge technology, it is possible to build a professional-grade digital infrastructure worthy of our country’s culture.
Architecture and Technical Challenge
The platform required high loading speeds to be accessible from any point in the national territory, even under limited mobile connections:
- Astro 6 & React: Enable fast server-side rendering (SSR), delivering ultra-lightweight pages and dynamic, interactive map components.
- Tailwind CSS v4: For a smooth, responsive interface with a modern high-fidelity aesthetic.
- Supabase: Real-time database managing the persistence of cultural organizations, independent spaces, artists, and their event calendar.
- Vercel Deployment: Guaranteeing redundancy and minimal response times.
To showcase the event layout and the detailed cultural calendar:

This interactive map demonstrates that quality software can be a tool for community and cultural transformation when made with passion, independence, and without bureaucratic intermediaries.
